Frugal fun

Since I have been off of work since July because of my back this whole disability thing is a HUGE money difference then plain o'll work. Not to mention my husband has just got laid off. So in order to be frugal and cut corners anywhere I can to save money.

1. I have been under no circumstances using the dryer. I have hung out to dry all the laundry

2. I have cut out entertainment activities and subscribed to Netflix which has saved us alot of money. We have movies that come to the house and also instant streaming to our computers, playstation 3, and wii. LOVE IT

3. Once an week I make homemade sandwich bread. We use alot of bread for sandwiches, and toast. It is a big money saver and the taste is superb.

4. I usually spend a good amount on cleaning supplies but I have saved alot by using homemade household cleaners. For example:

All purpose cleaner recipe
2 cups of water
1 tablespoon of laundry detergent
1 tablespoon clear, non sudsing ammonia

Furniture polish
1 cup olive oil
1/2 cup lemon juice

Cleaner for the kitchen and bathroom
50:50 solution of water and vinegar

Homemade makeup remover
1 cucumber
Milk
-simmer cucumber for 15 minutes, peel, and mash in a bowel. Add milk to create a paste. Apply to face and eyes to remove makeup with a cotton ball. Rinse face

If you know of any cool frugal ideas or blogs please let me know.

My second favorite thing for the week is chicken pozole. I can't get enough of this mexican soup. Of course I need the extra toppings like onion, cabbage, cilantro, oregano, and hot sauce. I made this for dinner the other night and when I make it there is alot. So until it was gone I ate this for every meal. LOL.. I LOVE IT

My third favorite thing for the week is this facial moisturizer that I swear by everything! By using it religiously an age spot that I had on my temple is now gone. It's light, non-oily, and I love it

Hair product heaven.....

If you know me you already know that I LOVE makeup and have plenty of it. BUT I do appreciate a good hair product too. I learned from Paulo (my hairdresser, featured on Shear Genius) that I should never wash my hair every single day. GROSSSSSSSSSS is the first thing I thought when he would tell me that. Honestly, after years of nagging me I DO NOT wash my hair everyday unless I get sweaty or dirty.. Well you know it's just your judgement. I wanted to share with you the best things I have found for complete hair care. I am no hairdresser or anything of that such but I have years of personal experience.

My favorite, favorite shampoo's and conditioners. A little goes a very long way too.

Phyto products are BOMB!!! This picture is not everything they sell but just a brief picture of a small amount of products. Check out www.phyto-usa.com for more info

I love Eufora products too. I like how like phyto a very little goes a very long way. Plus the main ingredient in Eufora is aloe. It just feels good and is good for your hair.

This is the only thing I use in  my hair when I blow dry, hot iron, or anything. Plus, a little goes a long way. I like products like that. It smells good and it just feels good in your hair before and after you style it.

First, I am definitely NOT a fan of in store products and especially this brand because the perfume in their products is SOOOOOOO strong. This stuff is GREAT!!! I just bought it and was able to try it for the first time. It's nutrient spray/leave in conditioner spray! HELLO, AWESOME! I sprayed it on my hair after a shower tonight before bed and I woke with my hair feeling fabulous. It does not weigh down my hair and it feels silky smooth. BONUS, the perfume is not over powering in this specific product in their line. Last night I even sprayed my arms and face and my skin feels awesome.

Do you have any favorite hair products to share? I would love to hear them.

Happy things for the week....

Sorry, I have been away for awhile. I really need to remind myself to be more tentative to my blog. Here are few things that I have loved and indulged on this week

.
Weird, weird, I know.... I seen this on Dr. Oz and I tried it. It made my skin feel and look so good. Make a thick paste of lemon juice and granulated sugar and rub on your face. I LOVED IT.. It tastes good too.
I love my coffee maker. It uses those little discs and it makes one cup at a time. I love it because I usually don't drink more then a cup at a time..The discs come in tea, coffee, latte's, hot chocolate, and espresso. YUM

Cantalope with lemon juice and toffee almonds. Nuff said

Makeup madness... A few of my favorites..

I'm girl and I love makeup. I have spent alot of time experimenting and finding things I love. I wanted to talk about makeup because I was cleaning out my makeup box and WOW I have a ton of stuff.  Here is some of my most favorites and that I think you would like too..
Hope in a jar is an awesome skin moisturizer.  It's lightweight and 99.9% oil free. I have tried so many and this one is my favorite. The only place I have seen it is Sephora.
OMG! This mascara is WILD!!! It's does not rub off, it's waterproof, or run down your face when you cry. When you apply to your lashes it forms tiny water resistant tubes around the lashes. To remove wash your eyes with warm water and gentle pressure and it just flakes off. No more black smeary mess. I LOVE this stuff. Bonus: It never clumps

This cool tiny razor kit is awesome for those stray eyebrow hairs. I have also used it to trim the length of my eyebrows. I'm sure it would be good for other facial hair.

This is my favorite black eyeliner. Well it only comes in black. hee hee. It is liquid eyeliner and this is the perfect liquid eyeliner for anyone who has issues getting the line right on their eyes. Instead of brush tip, it is a dense sponge tip so it applies nicely.

Blending brush. Nuff said.

It's time for what makes me happy for the week...

Today has been one crazy week with work and my sciatica getting so bad that I was in the ER today. Thank gawd I have my appt with a neurologist on Tuesday. Anyways here is this things that have made me happy this week.

Seriously, this just sweetened with splenda. I am usually skeptical about drink sweetened with splenda because they are all not the best but for some reason it tastes great. Its is only has 2g of sugar and 2 g of carbs per cup. How is awesome is that? Plus the kids love it too. =)
I just discovered this dressing recently and so far it's my favorite. I have been become a huge salad fan and this dressing is my officially my dressing of choice.

Spaghetti squash.... Need I say more. If the kids love it, you know it must be really good. This is most healthy way make spaghetti. It's great without the sauce too. I think I will post some recipes on the different ways I make dinners out of this.. You have to try it
A target must have. Method hand soap, the mint one.. Oohh mmyy this stuff is awesome. I like the way my hands feels after I was them. They feel minty and cool.
Learning how to make jewelry is something that has me super happy. I am super excited to get started and have already picked some super cool beads I was to work with. If you know any tips or cool places to buy supplies besides Michaels please let me know where. I would love to hear about what you know about it
